Giving Thanks (inspired by)

Thanks be to God, Father, Son and Spirit, for the abundance of good things he pours on His children.
We are but few, but His blessings are many.

humbled Marcus

He fell off his top bunk bed after dinner tonight, head first.  I knew by his cry it was an unusual injury.  He also did not want to keep his eyes open or move his body.

Josh took him to the ER and  he started throwing up on the way.  (Daddy's poor car!)  I sent a text to Mary Anne and she rushed right over and encouraged me to go after them.  I knew Marcus had daddy to comfort him and he didn't really need me.... but this mommy heart just so badly wanted to be with him.  So I went.  How nice to have an auntie (and an army of church family) who care for my children to leave them with in a time like this.

Baby's first concussion
His CT was clear (phew!), so they sent him home "for observation."  We are supposed to bring him back for any new or worsening symptoms.  They said I could let him sleep if I wake him up every couple hours to make sure he knows who I am, etc.  I am preparing my "nurses's station" and getting ready for a long night of puke catching, observing, praying, and maybe a little sleeping :)

He is a lethargic blob, still throwing up, and scowling constantly.  He has no intention of getting off the couch, and speaks only to say "My forehead hurts," or "My tummy hurts."  They told us the throwing up may last a day or two.

Well, at least it's not contagious.

May God uphold him and all of us through this weekend!

"I shall lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety." Psalm 4:8

(Almost) all fun and games

Aggie's life is (almost) all fun and games now...

She was the toughest tire-swinger at Brown County.
I pushed them all wildly "trying to make them puke," and Aggie,
as usual, was the last one standing.

Below she balances on a log, surpassing her sister in bravery:
another thing that has become our new normal.

Thank you God for this new normal!

Today we remember how fragile it is....
(Aggie and Daddy left at 5am for Indy for her routine MRI.
She has been dreading it all week.)
Please watch over her as she goes for her routine MRI!
Calm her fears, and let all go well for her, according to Your gracious will!
Grant our greatest request: that she would continue to be healthy.
Grant also hers: that she would be feeling well enough
for Family Fun Night tonight!

In the name of Jesus,
who loves this little girl more than we do,
Amen

bring on the rain

A surprise shower last week:
What a great day for a rain-walk!

The rain didn't last long,
so it turned into a puddle-hunt.

There's nothing like a nice, big,
warm, mud puddle!

I had a two extras that day: The Kylers.
Aren't they cute?

And I love that Jacob didn't mind borrowing the Dora umbrella!

After writing the post for my other blog,
I stumbled upon this old video:

We love fall time.

friends

These two!
So different from each other!

Miss girly-girl Enola!

Here they are reminiscing together....

remember what it was like to be the baby?

And just as those two are learning to get along
new conflict begins...
between these two:

Peter is SO fascinated with Deandra!
I just cannot get him to leave her alone!
He either loves her, or he's insanely jealous of her...
but whichever emotion it is,
he feels it strongly!

Oh my baby-poking,
pacifier snatching,
almost 1yr old
little boy!
