Giving Thanks (inspired by)

Thanks be to God, Father, Son and Spirit, for the abundance of good things he pours on His children.
We are but few, but His blessings are many.

Baby Marcus

Because he turned five today, he and I looked at some old pictures.
I couldn't help but share a couple with you.
Our morning conversation...

See Marcus?
She loved you even before she met you!

I thought this picture of you was so BOY.
What a little man.

Marcus, you're winking in this one!

See, marcus!
You used to be little, and daddy used to have curly hair!

Ha.
I loved this onesie.

Mom, why do I have to lay on the table by these girly pumpkins?

"HEY! It's my blankie!" he said.
"WOW my blankie is OLD!"
Just as old as you are son! That's not THAT old!

Love this peaceful picture.

We had just moved to White Creek on this day!
Funny, in almost every picture I have of Marcus during that month he's scowling like that!

Big Marcus thinks it was pretty cool that little Marcus got to see this:

This is when mom taught you how to play in the creek!

Happy birthday Marcus!
(Birthday letter coming soon! First, we have to go to an Alpaca Farm with his preschool!)

Touch A Truck

Today was, by far, our BEST Touch-A-Truck EVER.
I'm not joking.  These three little guys and I had SO much fun!

This was our first year going without a stroller, and I think that was a big part of it. Not once was there a complete meltdown. Not even from me, when the van wouldn't start afterwards.

Here are some of my favorite photos.
(Note to self- Choose one activity per day: take 100 pictures with your phone OR leave the lights on in your van so it won't start.  Not both.)

The sprayer (above)
It had a kick to it- the boys were shocked every time!

The sprayer slide:

Peter was not at all scared.

Suckers helped us wait in line.

The boys got to get their hands right on the controls!

He was already excited about all of the rescue heroes we were going to meet.
On the way there, he was making big plans to be a rescue hero himself some day.

And so this was my favorite moment:

This was pretty fun too.

The police car!
Marcus was excited to learn about bullet proof glass.

Fire truck!

THEN, we saw a helicopter in the sky, and it circled around and landed in the field!

We waited in line to check it out.

They were getting a little tired of lines by this point.
And photos.

In the helicopter!

I was so glad I packed our lunches! We went back to the van, starving, and so I threw some cheese at them.  Then, I noticed my lights were on. GREAT. Moby wouldn't start.
So we ate in the van, and they didn't understand why we didn't just "get moving," but I just smiled and hoped the van would start again if I gave it ten minutes.

Nope.

So we went back to the parking-lot. I expected to find someone from White Creek, as I had just seen about 100 people I knew, but they were all gone.

No matter.
It was a day for rescue heroes!
Where do we go when we need a helper, boys?
Let's ask this police officer!

Much to the boys delight, the officer was able to give us a jump with no problems.

(Though I think Marcus was  a LITTLE disappointed to see that giving Moby a jump didn't mean that Moby would ACTUALLY jump up in the air!)
